Things to have in your bag always - Be a Life Saver and a Helping hand in a need

Have you ever felt like "I wish I had this thing right now " when you are in a distress situation or when you want to help someone or animals on your daily life ? I used to follow the channel The DoDo where people post about rescuing animals, and it is so heart warming to see animals being rescued in their most distressful situations. But in order to help, sometimes, yourself might not be enough, sometimes you need some basic things or tools. They might come in handy, so make sure you have these things in your bag whenever you go out , These things help you to change the world in a small way, which makes life of other living beings out there a lot better

1. First Aid Kit

First Aid Kits can become handy when you meet with any road accidents, or you see injured or wounded animals or even it might help yourself. First Aid can be a life saver, since you are making a quick response to what has happened, and you have time to deal with it to reach the hospital and let the experts take care from there. So be a life saver !

2. Water

Most of us carry a bottle of water, but not always. So I recommend everyone of you take water with you anytime you go out, because, in the event that you meet someone or an animal dehydrated, you will be a great help. Have a water bottle which you can give away too because, in some situation, like homeless people, its better to give them the water bottle, because it will help them to use it again, rather than them collecting used bottles, which have higher risk of making them sick.

3. Biscuits / Any Eatables

Ever felt like giving a snack or any eatable to a hungry person ? And did you know that there are 820 million people in the world who are hungry globally ? See this article by WHO for more :World hunger is still not going down after three years and obesity is still growing – UN report . Giving food to hungry people is one of the best things you can do, because it is the very basic necessity for any living being in the world. You can also feed animals too, they also need it most. At last, in case you get in a situation where you get hungry and there are no shops or hotels nearby, this would come in handy for you itself.

4. Towel / A Small Blanket

A blanket may always come in handy when you need to rescue an animal which has its skin or fur not in good condition, a blanket can be used to cover the animal and you can safely take it to a vet for treatment. Also you can help out people and animals living in cold conditions or during winter, it will help them a lot. I've seen a lot of 'Random act of Kindness' videos, and people really need it. This also helps when you need to hold on to an animal to get rid of a can struck on their heads, which is very common. Lets not put cans into trash, lets crush it and put it so that animals don't get struck.

5. Straws

Straws help to feed small animals with water, when you encounter a dehydrated animal, especially the small ones, like squirrels and birds, straws can become really helpful to feed them or to give them some water. So you can get some or just don't throw away the straw that you got with your drink recently ! You can be of really good help with this with you.

6. Sugar and Salt

Note: Information presented here is based on suggestions from internet, please consult a doctor too before judging the situation or disease and applying the solution. Do not stop with this, consult a doctor as soon as possible after giving first aid. This article does not cover all first aids, it only covers very few.

You might come across people or yourself in a drained situations listed below. And the first step is not to be afraid or panic. You are present and you are there to help. If you are alone, call for help after giving a first aid for yourself, if you are capable of, so it is handy to have it right in your bag, and reachable easily.

Low Blood Pressure:
The person feels dizziness, fainting, rapid berating, feeling to vomit are few of the symptoms you can identify for a low blood pressure person. In that case, licking salt, or drinking water with salt and sugar will help. It is also good to ask the person to lie down for some time. Once this basic first aid is given, take the person to a hospital to assess the situation and make things clear. Note that this is a medical emergency and needs immediate medical attention.

Low Blood Sugar:
Persons with low blood sugar experience experience dizziness, rapid heart beat, sweating, shaking, hunger, weakness. In this situation, give the person sugar and water, glucose is best, its better to give them fruit juice, give them the best accessible solution, and fast. After having a drink, they can eat something nutritional. If you are confused, add both sugar and salt in water and give. Note that this is a medical emergency and needs immediate medical attention.

Symptoms for high blood pressure only occur when they are at its peak, you only know it when you check your pressure when it is at an early stage. So it is better to get your pressure checked regularly with your doctor. The effects are severe, so it is best to check beforehand and take treatment accordingly.

7. CPR Bag / One Way Mouth Guard (CPR Masks)

CPR is an emergency procedure used when the heart function has suddenly stopped. This technique will increase the survival of a person to a very high extent.

Basic CPR does not need tools, the first thing to have is the knowledge of CPR. But tools can come helpful.

If you are not sure what CPR is and how it is performed, check this video, it also has when to give CPR:

You must call the Ambulance or any Emergency service, and make sure you say the situation of the patient and ask them to bring necessary first aid tools too.

Take notes in your notes app about basic first aid and CPR or get certified with CPR. Because, we wont have much time to search and find a solution, depending on internet speed and availability.

Pocket Mask / CPR Mask is the tool which can come in handy for you to perform CPR (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pocket_mask)

8. Some Money

Its always good to have Money in your bags, at least something with which you will be able to get a taxi or bus or get to eat. Keep this as an emergency money, don't spend it unless there is an emergency like you are stuck somewhere or your wallet is lost or you can't use your card or your digital wallet.

9. Cello Tape / Any Tape / Glue and Scissors :

These simple tools can really help when you spot a hazard or a thing that harms or even to save precious resources. To state in a simple manner, you can just tape out any sharp pointy things in a public place like in a bus or a bus stand, or use a harder substance like epoxy (like M Seal http://www.pidilite.com/our-brands/mseal/) its noting sort technical, you can get it in all hardware stores to seal the pointy thing. You just prevented other people from getting hurt ! Great !

Tapes like Teflon Tape and M Seal can be used to stop water leakages. You often find public pipes leaking, just seal them, and you have just saved a lot of water ! Did you know that stopping dripping water from one tap can save up to 700 - 2700 Liters or 173 - 694 Gallons per year ?

Scissors come in use when using tapes for sure, and for cutting out plastic rings, did you know that plastic rings are dangerous to animals ? Check out more here and here.

10. A Plier

Pliers are again animal rescuers. I have seen them being used lot of times to cut out fishing nets, cans, fishing hooks, wired fences. These are places where animals usually get stuck. Saving them out from these can be a life changer for those animals. Be careful to check if there is no electricity passing before touching fences or any metal wires with a tester. Here is a video on how it helps :

11. Rope Bag

Now you might be thinking, "How do I take all this stuff with me ?" Well, a rope bag or any bag you like will help. You might think, if it is really necessary to take a bag evetime you go outside, well, you never know when you might be of help. So I always recommend going out with a bag with all your life saving tools. Not all heroes wear costumes, I believe some wear bags, with life saving tools.

12. See And Learn Before Hand:

All tools can become useful when you know how to use it and when to use it. So, watch a lot of videos related to tools and rescue missions, read lot of articles on first aid and do your own research, you will get a wide idea on how to use things at the right moment.
